🇬🇧 You are weird (and so am I)

You are weird. 

Everyone is weird by nature. Our physical appearance is related to our temperament characteristics and personality tendencies, which is exactly why we are all physically different from each other and even between twins there are differences in adulthood. We are also unique in terms of personality, experiences, repertoire...

Most people lie to themselves and seek to be as similar as possible to others, or to groups in which they seek acceptance. This is heavily influenced by outdated education, based on obedience rather than respect for individuality, which is the standard of previous generations, and still persists in some families today.

Of course, the human need for connection leads us to experience what groups we admire do or wear, and these experiences are important to expand our repertoire, but the point of this text is that if this search for identification with others reaches a point where you If you label or give importance to the label, or if you become dependent on that to feel accepted, you lose who you are.

I've liked listening to metal for about 25 years and I've rarely gone to a metal show dressed in black, like most people do. To date, I have purchased two band t-shirts. And I never suffered prejudice for that. I understand that it is possible that other people have done the same with different results. Then it's time to look inside yourself and evaluate internal standards when this happens. Self-knowledge is precisely about observing these internal patterns of thoughts and actions.
