Today I will talk about the work "People".
I am Nycka Nunes, a visual artist, and in this blog I mainly talk about my work.
You can see this work, which is no longer available for sale, in the highlights of my Nycka Nunes profile on Instagram (link in the sidebar).
This work of art is based on the principle that all people, regardless of gender, skin colour, origin, etc., are different from each other. We can analyse the work considering several differences.
If we think about the differences in the level of attitude towards interacting with others and how they deal with the expectations of others, we realise that some people seek to imitate others, fit into standards, seek to meet the expectations of others, while others prefer to take risks and experience the unknown, blaze their own trails. And among these profiles there are various degrees of difference between people who have a little of each of these attitudes, depending on the circumstances, who the people they have as a reference are, etc.
If we think about religiosity, there are people who treat religion as a tool for personal development, those who use religion as a crutch, those who use religion only to judge the lives of others, those who treat religion as a personal matter and know how to respect the decision of others to follow other paths, those who think that everyone should follow their religion according to their interpretation, those who know that religious books use symbols and fiction to teach something and those who see religious books as if they were history documentaries, among other profiles.
If we think about identity and stereotypes, we have men who identify with feminine stereotypes, women who identify with feminine stereotypes, women who identify with masculine stereotypes, men who identify with masculine stereotypes, and people who identify with some masculine stereotypes and other feminine stereotypes in the most varied possible combinations.
We can also think about gastronomic preferences. There are people who like spicy food and others who don't, people who love sweets and others who prefer fruit, people who love fast food and people who love healthy food, and a huge variety of preferences within the topic.
And the same thing happens if we think about any isolated topic when observing people out there. It doesn't matter where in the world we are.
Life is not a multiple choice test where there is only one right answer for each question and the test is the same for everyone. Each person is unique and their characteristics, preferences and needs are different.
I am currently looking for sponsors and patrons for an artistic photography project with an expected visibility of one million views. Read the project description here and find out how to contribute.
