When it comes to what someone should wear, I consider the following variables to tell each person the best options:
- Physical aspect. Body shape, breast size (for women), skin colour, scars, tattoos, face shape, eye colour, tooth shade, physical proportions, etc.
- Self-image and self-confidence.
- Personality.
- Social and professional position. What I suggest for a famous musician tends to be very different from my recommendations for a successful engineer, for example.
- Role in a given event. My suggestions to a bridesmaid on what she should wear tend to be different than what I would recommend to the mother of one of the grooms, or to a guest without a more prominent role in the ceremony. Likewise, guidance for a person competing for an Oscar, Grammy, Bafta or other relevant award in their field tends to be different from what I advise for someone attending the event without having a major role.
- Lifestyle.
- Photoshoot concept. For clients of my artistic work, my style suggestions for the shots depend on the concept of the photo shoot. In this case, some criteria mentioned in this text are ignored.
- Which brands are best for each customer considering the above variables, the technical quality (finish, adaptation to the customer profile, etc.) and the most appropriate designs.
- I had a customer who mentioned allergies, and this is relevant for purchasing bags and other items with metal components, but it is up to the customer to inform me about this type of situation and any other peculiarities, given their rarity.
There is no ready-made recipe for personal style. Following any generic recipe is a clear sign of a lack of style.
