๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Grief

When does grief begin? When someone dies? Or when a truth ceases to exist?

How many times were you told who you should be before you had the chance to discover who you really were?

How many times did someone tell you how you were supposed to feel about something?

How much suffering have you carried for years, believing it was normal?

Which beliefs do you truly consider your own… and which have you simply inherited? How many of them quietly contradicted what you had always felt to be true?

What happens when we realise that part of our story was built on ideas that never truly belonged to us?

How do we grieve for a childhood that never existed? For an identity created simply to survive and fit into an environment that never accepted us as we are? For dreams that died before they even had the chance to exist? For relationships that felt like love, but were only what we had learned to call love?

Not every death is physical. Some are the painful realisation that a life has been wasted.

Grief was born from a personal experience, but it does not belong solely to my story.

The work explores grief in its many forms. The griefs that can touch any life, but which often multiply for people living with CPTSD (Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder): grieving the collapse of absolute truths, imposed beliefs that never reflected our values, suffering we learned to accept as normal, identities built for survival, interrupted dreams, relationships, and countless other invisible losses.

Grief does not always begin with the loss of another person. Sometimes it begins when we realise that part of the life we thought we knew was never truly ours. When certainties, beliefs, identities and the stories that supported who we thought we were finally die.

Is there life after grief?
